Jorge Valdes emigrated from Chile to the states in 1980.
His love for crafting with tools started at a young age . If you talk to Jorge he will tell you he can’t remember a time when he didn’t love to sit and create things.
Command over tool wielding started developing in his early teens creating beautiful pieces out of wood. His love for crafting and using his hands to create things out of materials took a new journey and hence, the world of precious metals, diamonds and precious gemstones unleashed his gift of design and exquisitely handcrafted jewelry.
Jorge Valdes has been selected as the first-place award winner in the National 2023 CASE awards, the association’s annual jewelry design competition created by New York, NY – Jewelers of America (JA), the national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry marketplace.
Authenticity of his art .
Jorge’s spiritual , loving and passionate energy flows from his hand throughout the process from the concept, to design, selecting the finest diamonds and gemstones culminating into an exquisite, precise, timeless piece of jewelry art.
Inspired by his love for nature, shapes and architecture, Jorge has an uncanny ability to store imagery as a visual library in his mind. The process begins as a personal visual download guiding him through from concept to fruition. Each handcrafted piece of jewelry is infused with joy, love and happiness whether a custom design or from his collection.
The company Maxalonso was born out of the love and passion creating handcrafted fine jewelry by two brothers Maximo Valdes and Jorge Alonso Valdes.
Together their craftsmanship and artistry led them to be top contractors in the NYC diamond district for elite designers, concurrently creating their own jewelry collection.
In 2008 the brothers decided to take separate pathways. Jorge chose to preserve the company name Maxalonso as Executive designer and craftsmen.
In 2022 Jorge decided to rename his company, Jorge Valdes.
Maxalonso will always have a special place in the heart of the two brothers.
Jorge is excited to expand his journey and passion for creating and designing precious fine jewelry, sharing his gift as a goldsmith and unique vision in design. He is also a member of the Jewelers of America Association.
